We know we haven’t been the most diligent of bloggers, but there’s been so much going on in the store and Ethel doesn’t have time to do EVERYTHING! We’ve been busy with Facebook, Twitter & Shopcaster, plus planning events with the newly formed Toronto Vintage & Retro Society as well as keeping the store stocked with lots of fabulous goodies for our customers. We’ve also been working on a few custom pieces for the store.
We bought this dresser a few months ago, along with some other furniture and learned that it was custom designed in the 60s. While it is solid wood and has nice lines, it had some water damage on the top so we decided to work a little magic on it.
We kept the original hardware, put new legs on it and went with tone on tone greens along with chalkboard paint for the stripes. We tiled the top with some deadstock vintage handcut mosaic tile from Italy, and now we think it looks quite fabulous.
We’ve also been getting some nice big pieces of furniture in.
Look at this kitschy vintage 50’s sectional. Original upholstery and super comfy.
This Danish teak dining table was in great shape but the chairs needed a little love so we had them reupholstered, so you don’t have to.
Theres also lots of goodies coming in every day, like vintage barware, danish candle sticks and a gorgeous pair of smoked glass lamps. Too much to include in this blog!
So come on down to Ethel, or follow us on Facebook, Twitter & Shopcaster to see whats new.
See you at the store!
